Ontario Auto Reforms, Effective September 1, 2010

“Early Awareness Mailer/Point of Sale Disclosure/More Choice Mailer”

As of September 1, 2010 the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) has mandated all Insurers underwriting Automobile insurance in the province to deliver the “Early Awareness Mailer” document by June 30, 2010.  The Guarantee Company of North America will circulate this document on Monday, June 28^th to ALL policyholders that have an in force policy. New policies issued from June 14, 2010 to September 1, 2010, will receive a copy of the “Early Awareness Mailer” at the end of August 2010.

 The “Point of Sale Disclosure” documentation will be added to all Renewal documents effective September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011 and the “More Choice Mailer” documents will be attached to all New Business and Renewal documents effective September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011.
